Seascape occupies a prime position overlooking the Square and Swanage Bay. There are lovely sea views from all the rooms. Sit in one of the window seats and watch the world go by and the waves roll in.

The beach, harbour and Pier are just yards away. From the apartment walk across the square to the museum and Heritage Centre, visit the town and check out the delightful shops, cafes and restaurants.


Swanage is well situated to explore the Jurrasic Coast and Thomas Hardy country and is highly recommended for mid and low season breaks as well as traditional summer beach holidays. Established jazz and folk festivals occur annually in autumn and spring. Winter weekends are popular, enjoy strolls along the deserted beach and evenings by the log fire in one of Swanage traditional pubs.

ACCESS STATEMENT FOR ‘SEASCAPE’(FLAT 1, WESSEX HOUSE, TAUNTON ROAD, SWANAGE)

16th September 2009.

Seascape is a purpose built first floor flat in a block including another five flats and a shop below (Country Corner) with access in Taunton road at the side of the building.
Pre-arrival. The nearest train station is at Wareham, 8 miles away. There are accessible taxis at the station or take the number 40 bus from outside the station to Swanage. There is an airport at Bournemouth and an airport shuttle service to Bournemouth centre and railway station. Take the train to Wareham. By road, there is a ferry service crossing from Sandbanks (Poole/Bournemouth) to the Isle of Purbeck, a five mile drive to Swanage or take the longer route via Wareham, the gateway to the Isle of Purbeck. Seascape is in the town centre Square on the corner of Taunton road.
Arrival and Car Parking facilities: Luggage can be unloaded at the side of the building in Taunton road outside the entrance. There is a space for one car outside flat 1A, Stafford Road which is behind the block parallel to Taunton Road. There is on street parking for other cars. Please see the map and information on the entrance door.
Main Entrance: The entrance at the front door has a threshold of 2cm high. The door at the main entrance on the corner of Taunton Road and the Square is 80cm wide and 193cm high. Inside the front entrance is an area 133cm long, 170cm wide. There are an initial 3 steps, with a riser of 14cm, 133cm long and 35cm deep leading to a flat landing 133cm by 252cm. Five steps each with a riser of 16cm, 28cm deep and 93cm wide lead to a second landing, 93cm square, winding right to another 4 steps up to a 3rd landing, 93cm square. Five more steps wind right to a fire door, 83cm wide, 98cm high to Flats 1 and 2. Flat 1 is on the left. The flat door 75cm wide and 90cm high and is preceeded by an area 90cm wide and 110cm long.
The Flat door Entrance and Hall: The Entrance door leads into the Hall, 140cm wide and 3 metres long. There are 4 doors, each measuring 198 cm by 75cm, one leading into the first bedroom, one into the master bedroom, one into the lounge and another into the bathroom.
The first door on the right leads into a Bedroom which is 3.65 metres long and 2.30 metres wide. There is a window 1.75m high, 1.10m wide and 60cm deep, allowing seating in the window area. There is bunk bed, 1.83 m high with a double bed below, 1.80 m long and 2.30 m wide. On top is a single bed, 1.30 m wide. There is a small wardrobe and one bedside table.
The door opposite the entrance leads to the other bedroom which is 3.20 m long and 3.90 wide. There is window (measurements as in other bedroom and allowing for seating). The double bed is 1.90 m long, 145 m wide, 70cm high. There is a medium sized wardrobe in the left hand corner and a small chest of drawers.
The door on the left leads into the Lounge, measuring 5m by 3.17 m. There is window at one end of the room (measurements same as other windows and allowing for seating ). The room consists of one two seater settee and two armchairs, a dining room table for 6 people. In the right hand corner there is a door leading into the Kitchen.
The Kitchen is 2 .40 m by 1.48m at the widest end near the Lounge. There is a window on the left (measurements same as other windows and allowing for seating). On the right at the end of the kitchen are the units and washing machine. All at a height of 90 cm. The fridge is on the left hand side near the sink.
The far door form the Hall leads into the Bathroom, which is L shaped. The bath on the right is 1.70 m long and the distance to the wall is 78cm, there is a radiator on the left hand wall which is 72cm by 52cm. The end part of the bathroom measures 2.11 cm to the bath and 85 cm wide in the WC area. There is a sink to the left of the bath, which is 84cm high.
