Located in the much sought after village of Worth Matravers with dramatic sea and country views, this beautiful family home offers spacious, versatile accommodation. Lowgill is a rare holiday home, which has been tastefully decorated and equipped with all facilities.
French doors from the dining area open onto a large decked veranda where you can relax, enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sun go down. Children can enjoy summer evening ball games on a large area laid to lawn, and the whole family can get together for a BBQ on the patio.
The owners of Lowgill have used a lovely light contemporary style, which, coupled with the large windows gives your holiday home a light, airy feel. The large kitchen boasts every modern convenience, including a large double oven range cooker. There are two main reception rooms and a smaller games room. All of the sleeping accommodation is set on the first floor with two bathrooms. The Master bedroom is a particular delight with modern sleigh style bed, wash basin and balcony looking out over the waves.
Local Area. Worth Matravers is a village, which is a real community, the local pub The Square & Compass is one of the areas most popular. In the village centre the green, with its pretty duck pond and picturesque cottages, features in many visitors' photo albums, as it makes such a pretty picture.
A walkers paradise, take a stroll to the nearby villages of Kingston, Corfe Castle or four miles into the family seaside town of Swanage. Local attractions include adventure farm, museums, National Trust treasures at Corfe Castle or Studland, several good golf courses, horse riding and watersports to name but a few.
Worth Matravers nestles on the Isle of Purbeck; a fascinating place, often described as an island, but in reality it is 60 square miles of land that is surrounded almost completely by water, technically making it a peninsula. This diverse and beautiful place is found in the county of Dorset and has the English Channel to the south and east. With its breathtaking views across the channel from a coastline designated as a World Heritage site.

ACCESS STATEMENT LOWGILL, WORTH MATRAVERS
22nd October 2009.
INTRODUCTION
Our self-catering cottage is a detached house, built in the 1950’s of Purbeck stone, to blend in with other older houses in this picturesque village. The house was totally modernised when we acquired it in 2001. Please note mobile phones do not work in the house, but do if you take a short walk to the pub car park, or there is a phone box near the front parking. House phone takes incoming calls only number 01929439122. Oil fired Central heating.
PRE-ARRIVAL
- The nearest bus stop is outside the house, but this offers a very limited service into Swanage or Wareham.
- The nearest train station is in Wareham, about 10 miles away. There are taxi ranks there and in Swanage.
ARRIVAL & CAR PARKING FACILITIES
- Luggage can be unloaded at the front or back of the cottage. Both doors have parking for 2 cars, and external lighting.
- The entrance at the back (main entrance, due to alarm keypad, where key is kept) is very close to the parking and has 4 steps - 18 cm high, 25 cm deep, 100 cm wide (door hinged on the left.)
- The front entrance is accessed via 5 steps - 14 cm high, 31 cm deep, 100 cm wide. This is about 15 m from the parking and down a slightly sloping path.
MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION
- At the bottom of the steps the door is situated to the right, 85 cm wide. Enter the house passing the utility room into the open plan kitchen/dining area.
- The front entrance is via a small courtyard. This entrance can provide a double door entry or single into a hallway. Access to kitchen, lounge and games room area is down 7 steps - 17 cm high, 27 cm deep, and 87 cm wide.
PUBLIC AREAS – GENERAL INTERNAL
- There are no narrow passageways, nor dado rails. All internal doors are a standard 77 cm wide (except where indicated otherwise).
PUBLIC AREAS – WC
- The downstairs WC is accessed via the kitchen up 3 steps - 22 cm high, 29 cm deep, and 81 cm wide.
KITCHEN, LOUNGE, GAMES AND UTILITY ROOMS
- All on one level with wooden or lino flooring, except games room which is carpet.
- Kitchen is well lit with halogen down lighters.
- All equipment is less than 7 years old and of standard size.
- Furniture is moveable.
- TVs with main 5 channels (plus some extra) is provided with remote controls, plus video and 2 DVD recorders.
- There is a front-loading, large load washer/dryer and freezer in the utility room.
OUTDOOR FACILITIES
- Garden is accessed via a decked area from 2 sets of double doors in the kitchen.
- Large deck, seating and table provided in garage. Jacuzzi is sunken into the deck.
- Lawn area totals 0.75 acre, split into 3 levels, all accessed from kitchen via 2 different sets of stone steps.
- Trampoline is situated in top garden.
LEISURE ROOM
- Accessed from sitting room via 7 steps 17 cm high, 27 cm deep, and 87 cm wide.
- Table tennis table, TV, DVD player.
