Poppy Cottage is a grade 2 listed, semi-detached cottage; alluding to its charming interior. You’ll find all you need and more tucked away in this lovely cottage, whether you’ve come for a beach break or family adventure in Dorset.
The inviting living room boasts many original features including beamed ceilings and traditional exposed stone walls. A striking inglenook fireplace with electric wood burner entices you, awaiting cosy evenings, curled up with a book perhaps, or glass of wine.
In the master bedroom, you are met with a comfy super king bed and plenty of storage space, for your convenience this bed can also be converted into 2 singles at prior request. The adjacent double enjoys views onto the garden and a further cosy twin room, complete with cottage style beds. In the generously sized kitchen and dining area, open up the French doors to invite the outdoors in. Further adding to the feeling of space, why not dine al fresco on the patio bistro set?
Corfe Castle is home to plentiful cafes and pub restaurants, many with extensive gardens of their own. The Castle Inn in particular is just a short stroll across the road from Poppy Cottage. The village proudly offers many independent stores, including a grocery store and Post Office, but of course it is just a 10 minute drive from both Swanage and Wareham, where you will find myriad additional amenities.
Of course, to the incredible National Trust ruins of Corfe Castle for which the village is named, a visit is an absolute must with panoramic views across the Purbeck countryside and beyond.
For walkers, well sign-posted walking routes abound Corfe Castle. Why not head across Corfe Common towards Chapman’s Pool, Ballard Down or even as far as Kingston? Whatever the weather, Poppy Cottage will offer a warm and inviting interior when you retreat from a fun packed day of adventure.
