Access Statement for Angel Cottage,

 

Introduction:

Angel Cottage is a mid terrace Grade II Listed, Purbeck stone cottage, thought to date back over 200 years.  It has been sympathetically renovated and modernised, but still retains many characterful features. It is situated in one of the oldest areas of Swanage, just over a mile from the town centre yet within 500 yards of a local convenience store.  There are also 2 pubs (all within a short walk).  Some stunning walks can be accessed directly from the cottage, including the ‘Priests Way’ and Coastal Path.

It is a non-smoking cottage and suitable for one well behaved dog

 

Pre-Arrival

Bookings/enquiries can be made via Dorset Holiday Cottages.

 

There is a Bus stop nearby. The nearest mainline train station is Wareham. From there you can catch a connection to either Corfe or Swanage.  Both Wareham and Swanage have taxis available at the station.  All the main supermarkets deliver here.  Costcutters Convenience store is just 500 metres away.  Co-op and Budgens are in the town Centre.

 

Arrival and Car Parking Facilities

The Cottage is located on the Main Road into Swanage. There is unrestricted parking on Benlease way, a side road close to the cottage or on the main road just down from the cottage.

 

 

Access & Main Entrance (front door W72cm/H1188cm)

The front has 2 shallow stone steps up from the pavement.  The front door opens inwards directly into the living room.  The light switch is on the left inside the front door.

 

 

Ground Floor:

Lounge: (4.22m x 3.38m) 
Includes a Gas stove set in Purbeck stone fireplace. A two-seater sofa and a large arm chair and window seat. Smart TV. Stairs to the first floor. under-stairs cupboard containing hoover. Fully carpeted. Drop leaf dining table and 2 chairs.

 

2 steps up to bi-fold doors leading to shower room and kitchen. Stone floor. Coat hooks on right hand wall. Ironing board, broom and mop.

 

 

Kitchen (2.90 x 1.68m) 
A large range of kitchen cupboards containing cutlery, glasses and crockery. Gas combination boiler, gas hob, electric oven. washing machine, microwave and fridge freezer. Iron and first aid kit in cupboard.

Shower room

Door 55cm x 193cm. Stone floor. Walk in glass shower cubicle with fixed rain head shower and hand-held shower, standard height toilet and washbasin with cupboard unit under, mirror, heated towel rail.

 

First Floor:

Bedroom (4.21m x 3.45m) 2 bedside tables, wardrobe, chest of drawers. Full length mirror, chair, king size bed. Dual aspect windows with views over open country to the Purbeck Hills at the front and overlooking the garden at the rear.

 

Garden:

Fully enclosed south facing garden accessed from the kitchen. 4 stone steps to patio area with table and chairs.  2 stone steps to lawned area through a pretty trellace archway.

There are 2 pubs, a fish and chip shop an Indian restaurant all within a short walk.
