Wareham is a pretty and interesting town steeped in history, famously invaded by the Vikings. The town has stood on the once important trade route of the River Frome for thousands of years. The Saxon walls that surrounded and protected Wareham can still be seen today and guests can enjoy a guided tour in the summer months. Within walking distance of the Coach House, you will find several good pubs and restaurants, as well as a two supermarkets. You can stroll into town for a morning coffee at one of several coffee shops. A delicious cooked breakfast with locally sourced produce is an absolute must at The Salt Pig. Be sure to pop back one lunchtime for a slice of their homemade cake - it's yet to be beaten! In the summer months, why not take a leisurely boat trip along the Frome? Or, for the romantic in you, why not try a rowing boat just for two? SUP is also available - head down to the stunning redcliffe and onto Arne nature reserve - recently featured on BBC Springwatch!
As The Coach House is pet friendly, your four legged companions are sure to appreciate a well deserved holiday too! Within just a short stroll you will be on Wareham Common, grazed by cows and sometimes horses, you can walk down to the river which is a perfect paddling spot come rain or shine!
For something a little different and a step back in time, take a seat at the REX picture house - they even have a bar so you can snuggle up in the double seats with a glass of wine whilst watching your favourite film!
