Bronte Cottage is a charming cottage hidden away in a fabulous location a few strides from Wareham Quay and the river Frome.  The cottage, dating back to at least 1845, is a listed building, and is located in Church Green, opposite Lady St Mary's parish church. Wareham Quay offers relaxing al-fresco dining and an olde public house. Enjoy a riverside walk where you will encounter diverse wildlife or just congenial company with other nature lovers along the riverside path.

Enjoy a good read in the cottage's quaint walled patio garden.   Bronte Cottage could be taken from any quintessentially English novel, whilst incorporating a complete recent modernisation to include a beautifully fitted stylish kitchen, roll top bath and finely decorated double bedrooms.  An additional single bedroom is available as the cottage comfortably accommodates 5 guests, however head room over the bed is limited in the third bedroom and this may be more suitable as a child's bedroom.

2019 changes- Bronte Cottage will be advertised as sleeping 4 + 1 baby/child

In a great location, albeit a little noisy due to proximity to quayside pubs
Cottage in really pretty location, beds very comfortable but downstairs seating not very comfortable especially if there were five guests, We were three. Great to have a smart tv and WiFi. Kitchen well equipped. Cottage nice and warm, lots of books suggesting walks and maps, etc. Very thoughtful Early morning noise was a bit of an issue. Strange banging at 7.30 am each morning ? And also noise probably connected to the pubs nearby, but location very pretty as mentioned and convenient for shops, etc. Parking voucher worked well, very close to cottage. Spaces outside the cottage full every day.
Debbie Trinnaman
A convenient, comfortable, well-equipped cottage, right in the heart of Wareham
We had a great week at Bronte Cottage. A little difficult to find at first but in a hugely convenient location and the cottage had everything we needed. Beware of the very steep stairs!
Nicky Lomas
super property, great location, well equipped
attention to detail in the décor particularly outstanding. only downside is the steepness of the stairs and the tight dimensions of the bedrooms, but this is not a criticism, as you would expect for a cottage of this period. great location for the quay and shops of the town.
Eric Holland
Perfect cottage
Bronte Cottage is lovely. Very well equipped, everything you need for a stay. I forgot my dog bowl and was just about to buy one, but there was no need as there are three! It is well maintained and very comfortable. The courtyard is small but was ideal for my dog and me.The stairs could be a challenge if you are less-abled. Also, the location is great in some respects - close to the river, pubs, bars, town centre. This also means it was a little noisy at closing time. But its a minor thing compared the overall experience.
Jo
Very nice
Loved being near the quay everything you need was supplied, the only downside was the steep stairs a bit frightening

Great cottage in lovely location
This is a lovely cottage which is very well kitted out. I would say the third bedroom could really only be classed as a study and I couldn't ever use the bath as I would probably knock myself out as headroom is virtually non existent! But with two double bedrooms and a lovely downstairs its a great place for a break. Yes it can be a bit noisy at times being so near the quay but not excessively. We enjoyed our week and loved Wareham.
Jane

Superb cottage, highly recommended.
Several of us booked this cottage over the festive period, not quite knowing what to expect. We were delighted not only with how helpful the staff at Dorset Cottage Holidays were, but with the extremely high quality of Bronte Cottage. It was an absolute pleasure to stay here and the number of small, personal touches was noticed. This cottage is well-situated in the centre of Wareham, with everything you could want within a very short walk. It has been renovated to an extremely high standard and the kitchen and shower room deserve particular mention. The beds are extremely comfortable, although it should be mentioned just how tiny and cramped the single room is. We were all delighted to stay here, and we will be booking this cottage again. A very special stay.
Melody Hayes
Excellent cottage
We were delighted with Bronte Cottage. It included all you would require for a comfortable stay. The location was excellent with a short step to the river and all of Wareham's amenities. Also a short drive to a variety of coastal locations, walks and nature areas. One slight problem which may not suit everyone is the stairs which are a little on the steep side.
Steve Whiteford
Wonderful cottage in a lovely location.
A wonderful cottage maintained to a very high standard. Beds are very comfortable and despite the cottage appearing small from the outside it's surprising spacious inside. Nicely equipped kitchen leading onto a secluded patio/garden area – all in all we were delighted with this property.

A House with a Character, all the luxurious You can wish and Ideallösung located with Wareham Quay right at Your doorstep!
BRONTE Cottage is a Holiday Home full of character. The Old Stones and the wonderful furniture make it cosy. The beds are very comfortable. Just the stair is a little bit steep. The Equipment is very luxurious, everything You wish for is there. During our Stay the Espresso Automat did not work. As for every question the friendly DHstaff was of great help and right the next day the Cottage owner brought a new one! The patio is decorated with lovely Flowers and it is nice, Sunny and quietscht to sit in there and have a good read. On the other hand the Wareham Quay is just 10 footsteps away and You are in an amazing place with the picturesque River Frome and wonderful Pubs.

An idyllic gem
What a magical place! Fantastic location, central yet tucked away. Cottage oozes character and just makes you smile. High quality amenities like ultra fluffy White Company towels and John Lewis sheets. Well stocked kitchen with helpful labels of where things are located. Couldn't believe our luck! Will definitely be back when we return to the area. Thanks for a wonderful time.

Well placed, well equipped small cottage.
A lovely spot between the church green and the quay. The town has history and friendly inhabitants. There's a good market on Saturday's and a preserved cinema, plus a number of pubs (the camra pub near the Saxon church had fab beer). The Priory Hotel had good traditional food and service and we ate lunch looking over the garden. We also visited Rick Stein at Sandbanks, a delightful drive via Corfe and Studland and the chain ferry. Needless to say the restaurant, food, service and view across Poole Harbour were fabulous. Well located for the reserve at Arne, there was wildlife in abundance. Only negatives were we could hear music on Friday night and the passage way outside means people are in close proximity when they pass by. The cottage stairs are steep - because it is a cottage. Service and booking seamless.

Comfortable cottage for a great holiday experience
We spent a week at the end of January, beginning of February at Bronte Cottage. The cottage was warm and clean and comfortable and had everything that our party of two couples required. The cottage is close to all the local amenities which was great and there are lots of places to eat in Wareham which cut down on travel, and allowed everyone to have a drink or two.
Wendy Mccauley
Great location & more than lived up to expectations.
We wanted to get to know Wareham better - and this achieved our aim - a great base to explore the area from - and all the amenities we needed.

Lovely holiday home, very comfortable
My husband and I felt immediately at home in the beautiful Bronte Cottage. Comfortable, quiet, highly equipped with everything you need and may need! Perfect spot to explore Dorset from, but Wareham is a delight on its own. The River is a few steps away from the door, which has lovely pubs/restaurants, boat trips, boat hire and beautiful scenery.
