Cottage warm & welcoming as ever. Staff at Dorset Cottage Holidays very helpful. Minor issue ice box in fridge needed defrosting, but when brought to the attention of staff was noted & hopefully resolved for next visit. Looking forward to June, thank you to owners & staff for letting us stay in such a lovely cottage.
Viv Canning - 09/03/2019
Almost perfect
The cottage is comprehensively equipped, very comfortable and has just about everything required for a very decent stay. We were very pleased that the cottage lived up to the description and pictures posted on your website

Lovely cottage in a beautiful area
We had a lovely time in Dorset, despite the weather. Forge cottage was spacious and well equipped, and lovely and warm (essential in April). The garden was very nice, would be perfect on a warm sunny day. Parking was pretty good - we always parked on the main road, no trouble at all. The road outside was fairly busy, especially as there is a bus stop over the road, but the double-glazing was great and the traffic didn't disturb in the morning. The blackout curtains certainly helped. We had a problem with the heating when we first arrived (there was no heat or hot water!) but a very nice man came out straight away to help us, despite it being 8.30 on a Saturday night. Great service, highly recommended. Overall, a great cottage for a fair price. And there is so much to do in Dorset, even when the weather isn't the best. Swanage within walking distance, Corfe Castle, Studland beach, Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, Maiden Castle, the Tank Museum (pay once, go again as many times as you want for free), as well as Weymouth and Lyme Regis if you want to go further afield. We even went to Stonehenge one day, which was great. And beautiful views even when you are driving. Lovely.

Home comforts
Spacious, warm and comfortable cottage. Lovely garden with utility room outhouse. Great kitchen diner with masses of pots, pans, plates, utensils etc.room. Located opposite bus stop for Swanage; pub and shop seconds away; footpaths to coast a few yards away.

Lovely family cottage
We had a fantastic week in Forge Cottage in August. The cottage was clean and cosy, and the garden was perfect for the children. They loved the games box too! We hope to be back again next year. Many thanks for making our holiday so enjoyable.
Mrs R Tinworth - 13/10/2017
Everything was really good.
The cottage was fully equipped and very clean. All the amenities were great and a lovely garden. It was in an excellent location and easy to get around by bus or car. Lots of exciting things to do with a mixture of ages children nearby. Good local shop and pub. It was such a good cottage that I would consider returning.
Bridget Burton - 01/09/2017
A super cottage and an ideal base.
A very comfortable cottage, well equipped and with plenty of space. The location is excellent, with the village shop two doors down and the pub just beyond that. It's only about 20 or 30 minutes' pleasant walk from the cottage down to the coastal path. For major shopping, the Co-op supermarket in Swanage is about ten minutes' drive away. It's beside the railway station which means those not doing the shopping can go and watch the steam trains instead. A couple of points to be aware of: The parking space at the back of the cottage is very tight. Parking on the street at the front is much easier. The landing at the top of the stairs is very small and has a step down from the master bedroom. We recommend you take a night-light. All in all, a super cottage - an ideal base for a wonderful holiday.
Robin Wickes - 29/05/2017
Perfect cottage
Very well equipped and comfortable cottage. The garden is a sun trap. The kitchen is cosy yet spacious. The living room has lovely sofas and french windows onto the garden and the bedrooms and bathroom were lovely. My only complaint is that there was only one loo roll which seemed mean and at odds with the rest of the experience. We had a relaxing few days, walking and enjoying the peace.
Anne Marie Isaacs - 26/04/2017

First may we Thank the owners of Forge Cottage for allowing us to share their lovely cottage for the past 15 years approx. We have had some lovely holidays during this time and it is like coming home! The cottage has a warm and cosy feel, even if wet and cold outside.
