Excellent base for Purbeck
Cottage was well equipped and in a quiet location. Pet friendly with nearby dog walks. Next to a National Nature Reserve with fabulous Nightjars in July! Easy driving to Studland Bay and RSPB Arne.
Linda Riggall - 01/08/2019
Good location, well equipped and comfortable.
Lovely place to stay and good location for site seeing and beaches and coves.
P Meston - 26/06/2019
Excellent
We had a wonderful holiday the cottage was great. Lovely welcome with tea coffee milk and cake and croissants also a bottle of wine which i must admit we did not drink. It was very clean and certainly worth the money. Good base for visiting all the places we wanted to see and even better the weather was very good.
Shan Harding - 31/05/2019
quiet, clean, spacious rental
This was the first time we rented through Dorset Cottage holidays and I made contact with them a couple of times between booking and us leaving the property, each time the staff were helpful. The bungalow is in a quiet street but with easy access to so many beautiful places to explore. The photos are an accurate reflection. After a long journey the welcome tray was much appreciated, The kitchen was well equipped and we were provided with dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, tea towels and oven gloves. The washing machine is in the utility room and understandably you need to bring your own detergent, there are pegs provided and a rotary airer in the garden plus a clothes airer in the understairs cupboard. We stayed a week and there is so much to see just on the Isle of Purbeck if you don't want to travel far. The Co-op next to the petrol station and McColls have the groceries you would need and are open very long hours, both you can walk to easily. We would stay here again without hesitation. We were 2 adults with a 17 year old son.
Jenny - 04/05/2019
Lovly break with the dogs
Never been to the south coast before , I needed some were that would welcome dogs , I'm so glad I found Forest Edge. The stay was wonderful , the facilities superb the ease of getting around Dorset from Forest Edge was so stress free. Thanks also for the welcome pack that was really appreciated. Thanks Kind Regards.
Mr Glyn Jones - 24/04/2019
Great value holiday cottage
Lovely well maintained clean property, some lovely walks close by. Would recommend the local pub, a few minutes walk away.
Christopher Cook - 09/04/2019
Very good
Forest Edge is a much more spacious property than you might think as you arrive. It’s really well presented, kitted out with just about everything you could possibly need (only one dishwasher tablet though so remember to bring your own and also kitchen spray), clean as a whistle, cosy and comfortable. The rear garden is fully enclosed so great for those with a dog. A great base to explore the surrounding area from. Thanks to all concerned for a lovely 2nd long weekend at Forest Edge.
Sheila Mahendran - 21/03/2019
A well situated, modern property with the xcellent facilities and welcome pack.

Close to Wareham, Poole, Swanage and excellent dog walks close by. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Water temperature in en suite shower difficult to control - too hot!

OWNER RESPONSE:  "Thank you, i am so pleased you enjoy your stay at Forest Edge!  Thank you for letting us know that there was a problem with the shower, this has now been resolved"

Keith B - 15/02/2019
Stunning
Very festive welcome and the cottage has a high end home feel. Loved our stay there and would love to go back.
Charmaine Orsmond - 02/01/2019
Lovely well appointed property in good location
We have stayed here before and knew what to expect. It is a lovely comfortable bungalow well equipped and in lovely condition. Cold in November but good heating with nice log fire. We were here to look around with view to moving to the area next year. Lucky with weather and dog loved Wareham Forest which has excellent walks even at this time of year. Welcome pack very much appreciated.
Brian Collinge - 10/12/2018
A fantastic base for our Holiday exploring Dorset.
A fantastic base for a Dorset holiday. A very clean and modern property connected to owners home with pretty garden and brilliant walks for the dog on the heath close by. Local shop and dog friendly pub within walking distance, plus very nice Indian and Chinese take-aways a short drive away in Wareham Town. If raining we would of liked a free standing coat peg to dry coats, but during our stay this wasn’t a problem. We book again.
WJK - 05/11/2018
Lovely comfortable bungalow in quiet area.
This is a very comfortable, very well equipped bungalow in a very quiet area. We had a lovey week and our dog also settled in here very easily. The welcome tray was much appreciated. I'm trying to give it five stars but the rating isn't working and keeps linking to the booking site. Obviously a glitch in the system.
Deanne - 08/03/2019
Excellent!
Forest Edge was really lovely and very comfortable and very up to date. We did know what to do with our Rubbish -recycling as the instructions were a little confusing. The shower did not work properly but we reported it and it was fixed almost within the hour. The double bed was just a little too hard for us, that is why I only gave the cottage 4 stars, it really it deserves 5 Stars. It is the best cottage we have stay in!
Malcolm Fox - 15/10/2018
Clean and comfortable
It was spotlessly clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The garden although north facing was lovely to sit in and ideal for our puppy as there was nowhere it could get out. The welcome pack was most welcome with all the essentials needed to start your holiday. It was ideally situated for lots of places to visit but the traffic being the end of July was a bit of a shock.
barry searle - 03/08/2018
Great place to stay
We would definitely recommend this accommodation. It's a good base for exploring the area. Parking for two cars on the drive so no coming back from a day out and finding nowhere to park. The bungalow was spotlessly clean with every facility provided. It had a very secure garden which we and our dog enjoyed. One of the best places we have stayed in.
Sheila, Don and Lisa - 29/06/2018
Very good
Forest Edge was a very clean and welcoming property, the wine cake and crossiants were much appreciated. It was very peaceful with a contained garden which our little dog loved and ourselves for sitting in after a day out. We would recommend it to anyone who love walking as its a beautiful area for that we had an enjoyable holiday and would go again. The only downside for us was the key container it let you get the key out easily but not putting it back without a struggle apart from that everything was great including the weather THANKYOU.
Cynthia Newman - 29/06/2018
A little gem
February 2018. We had a great long weekend break in the lovely Forest Edge. It is a great base from which to explore the area knowing that you will come back to super accommodation. Everything’s been done to a very high standard. The property was as clean as a whistle, very well equipped, well heated and very welcoming. Thanks to all concerned. Sheila M.
S. Mahendran - 23/02/2018
Very comfortable
Very comfortable and enjoyable. Small but very nice garden. Our dogs were very easy to control. Welcome gift was much appreciated. Good central position for touring and walking.
Desmond - 25/01/2018
Forest Edge is a beautiful, stylish chalet bungalow - clean, well equipped, nicely decorated, with an efficient and much appreciated heating system.
Arrival at Forest Edge - following your directions was easy and the key box made life much simpler as we could arrive to suit ourselves. On entering the property there was definitely a wow factor. Each room is well equipped and the en-suites beautiful. The main reason for our holiday was to visit family who very kindly catered for our main meals so we didn't use the cooking facilities but both the cooker and range of equipment seemed more than adequate. It was nice to see a few condiments in the cupboards ( a thing we have forgotten before to take with us!!!). We had a lovely week in the property and have booked again for next year.
Mrs Theresa Hunt - 26/10/2017
Lovely spacious house in a good location.
Enjoyed our week very much. House is in a great location and very peaceful. Good area for exploring the many coastal resorts.
Kathleen Sutherland - 16/09/2017
very good
cottage was excellent..had everything you need, particularly enjoyed sitting in the lovely garden as on the 2nd day there I fell on a forest walk and broke my shoulder so was incapacitated the rest of our stay. otherwise everything was good.
mrs pat moore - 16/09/2017
One of the best places we have ever stayed at
One of the best places we have ever stayed at and will definitely consider returning. Very quiet and most places of interest within easy driving distance.
Tony & Tess Godfrey - 01/09/2017
Fantastic family holiday
The photos don't do it justice, clean, spacious and well laid out. Beautiful garden, very quiet road. Lovely welcome tray on arrival with croissants and wine. Conveniently situated for driving to the coast (Studland beaches are stunning although parking a bit pricey) and other attractions. Excellent woodland walks (almost at the door), the children loved the bridge over the stream. Must also recommend the Indian takeaway (The 29029) down the road, absolutely delicious and lots of more unusual choices on the menu. Our highlights included a guided fossil walk at Charmouth (about 1hrs drive), Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park (about 40min drive) and of course the beautiful beach at Studland.
Laura Trevallion - 04/08/2017

Mr R - 12/10/2016
Excellent accomodation
Clean and modern looking accommodation in recently refurbished 2 bedroom house close to Wareham. Open plan kitchen/diner/living area. Main bedroom has an excellent ensuite bathroom and modern shower. Second bedroom and bathroom are satisfactory but are much smaller and the ceiling upstairs has a pitched roof. Outside the property benefits from a private garden and has parking for 2 cars. The house sits close to the lovely town of Wareham with all its amenities and also Poole. Arne is also nearby and is a beautiful area for walking and wildlife. Recommended.
Kevin Robson - 06/10/2016
Spotless, comfortable, in excellent location
We enjoyed our stay at Forest Edge, very clean, comfortable, peaceful and in an excellent location to visit highlights such as Lulworth Cove and Studland. We couldn't fault anything - except perhaps the pillows could be better, plumper!
Alison Sobey - 06/10/2016
Beautifully appointed
Forest Edge is beautifully renovated and well appointed. Our bed was exceedingly comfortable with a lovely en suite with a huge shower. Our son said upstairs was comfortable as well. Good off road parking in a quiet area and 2 local shops within a easy walk for everyday items.

One of the best places we have ever stayed at
One of the best places we have ever stayed at and will definitely consider returning. Very quiet and most places of interest within easy driving distance.

Our highlights included a guided fossil walk at Charmouth (about 1hrs drive), Peppa Pig World at Paultons Park (about 40min drive) and of course the beautiful beach at Studland.

brilliant
forest edge was wonderful, beginning with the generous welcome pack there was everything we could want. The kitchen was well equipped and the lounge/dining room was very convenient, our dog loved the garden and it was great knowing he could not escape! It was very peaceful and ideally located within easy reach of all the places we wanted to visit. We will definitely stay here again.

The 'wow' factor lasted all week
We were extremely happy with our stay at Forest Edge and were 'bowled over' when we first entered and saw the 'Mayfair in Wareham Forest' decor and facilities. As we stated in the Visitors' Book: "The 'wow' factor lasted all week'
