Woody Hollow 50.600785, -1.956335 Woody Hollow Durlston Road BH19 2HX (Directions)

Located in a prime spot at the entrance to Durlston Country Park, Woody Hollow is the ideal choice for families looking to holiday in Dorset. This spacious bungalow has been decorated in creamy hues throughout and offers all modern conveniences with comfortable furnishing.

The entrance porch leads into the bright, double aspect living area with large central fireplace complete with ornamental log burner. The living room is decidedly spacious, making for an ideal spot to enjoy a board game or perhaps a film after a busy day exploring beautiful Purbeck.

Off the living room is a hallway which services two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both with windows overlooking the patio garden. The bathroom benefits separate shower and full size bath; there is also a further WC off the utility room.

In the kitchen you will find modern appliances and fixtures, dining table to seat four and utility area with door leading to a paved section of the garden, complete with table and chairs for al fresco dining.  The pretty cottage garden envelops the bungalow and offers a raised lawn area with bench, pretty flower beds and a secluded paved area.

During your stay you will be spoilt for choice with lots to see and do, a week just may not be enough time! Durlston Country Park is a firm favourite for some of the very best views in Dorset, along with a plethora of marine and wildlife. If you are lucky you may even spot a pod of dolphins or the resident grey seals, certainly worth packing your binoculars just in case! The park has a delightful café and lots of activities for children. You can even travel around the world in record time: the great globe is one of largest stone spheres in the world!

From Woody Hollow you can walk into the town centre and onto the sandy beach in around 15 minutes, however please be warned the walk back may be a little more challenging as it is uphill all the way!

Swanage caters for all ages with boutique shops, traditional seaside treats, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. There is even a mini theme park over looking the beach in the summer.

Within a short drive you will reach Studland with miles and miles of golden sands, a sun worshipper's paradise. If you are here in the colder months, why not warm up with a hot chocolate after blowing the cob webs away on a brisk walk to Old Harry Rocks?

The quaint village of Corfe Castle, watched over by one of the most iconic surviving castles from the civil war, is also within easy reach. The views from the top are breath-taking, be sure to stop by here for a visit during your stay.

Larger towns of Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth are also accessible within 30-40 minutes, each with their own award-winning beaches, attractions and gardens.  All this and so much more can be explored during your stay, come rain or shine, Woody Hollow promises a warm and inviting welcome to all its guests.

Please note despite this property being all on one level, there are steps from the driveway through the garden to the bungalow entrance, see pictures for more detail. Mobile phone reception can also be limited in this area.

Excellent property and location
This is without doubt one of the best holiday homes we have rented. It was extremely comfortable, well equipped and ideally located for exploring East Dorset. We have no hesitation in recommending it to others looking to holiday in this area.

Woody Hollow a delight in Dorset!
Woody Hollow is a delightful holiday home, beautifully presented, fully equipped, set in a beautiful location offering peace and tranquillity but within walking distance of Swanage with its beach shops and places to eat. The location is perfect for people walking The South West Coast Path this section can be reached across the road from Woody Hollow.
Liz McNaughton - 23/05/2019
Lovely comfortable place
We really enjoyed our stay at Woody Hollow. Clean, well equipped and fabulous position. Only one small niggle - only one bedside lamp in double room. We would definitely stay at WH again and would recommend to family and friends.
Gaby Howell - 23/05/2019
A warm, comfortable cottage in a beautiful area
We had a lovely time over the Easter holidays. The cottage was very comfortable and well equipped (although you might need to bring some dishwasher tablets...), and perfectly placed to enjoy Dorset. The garden was lovely, especially when the weather warmed up. Definitely a cottage we'll be returning to in the future. There are lots of places to visit in Dorset, including Swanage, the Tank Museum (you can go there as many times as you like for the entry fee), Studland beach, Lulworth Cove and Castle, Durdle Door, Weymouth and even Lyme Regis if you fancy a longer trip for fossil hunting (we found some!). We had fun!
Debs - 24/04/2019

The cottage is so very peaceful and is equipped with everything (and more) that you need! We will return to the 9-5 completely restored. Thank you!

Woody Hollow is a lovely well equipped cosy cottage in a great location
Woody Hollow is one of, if not the best, holiday accommodation we have stayed in. It is well equipped, scrupulously clean, warm and spacious. Swanage is a great holiday location with plenty to see and do in the local area; surrounded by fabulous scenery. We enjoyed trips to Corfe Castle, Lulworth Cove and the boat trip to Poole. The actual house location for us was ideal, being keen runners and walkers we appreciated be able to get straight on to the coastal and country park footpaths within yards of the door. The walk up the hill from the town may be a consideration for less active holiday makers, but the glorious view should make up for it. It short we really enjoyed our stay at Woody Hollow and hope to be able to book a return trip in the near future.

Lovely property in a lovely location
Very pleased with Woody Hollow. A lovely comfortable spacious property with everything you need to make you feel at home on your holiday. Good location for either a walk to the beach or around the country park. Also a good base for days out around Dorset. Would highly recommend.
Sally Thornhill - 17/08/2018
The cottage was excellent with everything we needed for our holiday, in quiet location with a good sized garden.
The cottage was well equipped, clean and with everthing we needed for our holiday. The garden is excellent, and was especially appreciated with the amzing weather we were lucky to have during our visit. The location is peaceful, but within walking distance of the beach and very close to the country park. For a week's holiday there is plenty to do without leaving Swanage but there are also plenty of interesting places close by to drive to. The only problem we found is that here is no facility for collecting recyling. We dutifully saved glass, plastic, paper and cardboard (as we do at home) only to find there is nowhere to leave it: there was no collection from the cottage and after driving around Dorset with a boot of recyling material we found that the county council have removed bottle-banks etc. from carparks/supermarkets. It would be helpful if some instructions how to deal with recyling could be provided. Our car was too full to take the material home so we unfortunately had to dispose of it with normal waste. Response: Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are pleased you had a nice stay. The commercial collection from the cottage is mixed and therefore should all go into the bin provided. We will ensure this instruction is made clearer within the cottage for future guests.
R.I. Walton - 27/07/2018
Quiet and Comfortable property
This property is well situated by the country park ( Coastal path) giving an alternate walking route down to Swanage off road. We appreciated the courtesy call off Chelsea to see if everything was OK which was a nice touch other Holiday cottage companies have never done. . The property is well maintained and we had a nice relaxing week.. Only slight criticism was that the back seating area had weeds growing through the gravel and chairs and table needed wiping down. Otherwise all good Thank you

Everything good, but would just like to know why in this day and age, there is no shaver socket in the bathroom ?
