Woody Hollow 50.600785, -1.956335 Woody Hollow Durlston Road BH19 2HX (Directions)

Located in a prime spot at the entrance to Durlston Country Park, Woody Hollow is the ideal choice for families looking to holiday in Dorset. This spacious bungalow has been decorated in creamy hues throughout and offers all modern conveniences with comfortable furnishing.

The entrance porch leads into the bright, double aspect living area with large central fireplace complete with ornamental log burner, perfect for those crisp winter evenings. The living room is decidedly spacious, making for an ideal spot to enjoy a board game or perhaps a film after a busy day exploring beautiful Purbeck.

Off the living room is a hallway which services two bedrooms, one double and one twin, both with windows overlooking the patio garden. The bathroom benefits separate shower and full size bath; there is also a further WC off the utility room.

In the kitchen you will find modern appliances and fixtures, dining table to seat four and utility area with door leading to a paved section of the garden, complete with table and chairs for al fresco dining.  The pretty cottage garden envelops the bungalow and offers a raised lawn area with bench, pretty flower beds and a secluded paved area.

During your stay you will be spoilt for choice with lots to see and do, a week just may not be enough time! Durlston Country Park is a firm favourite for some of the very best views in Dorset, along with a plethora of marine and wildlife. If you are lucky you may even spot a pod of dolphins or the resident grey seals, certainly worth packing your binoculars just in case! The park has a delightful café and lots of activities for children. You can even travel around the world in record time: the great globe is one of largest stone spheres in the world!

From Woody Hollow you can walk into the town centre and onto the sandy beach in around 15 minutes, however please be warned the walk back may be a little more challenging as it is uphill all the way!

Swanage caters for all ages with boutique shops, traditional seaside treats, restaurants, pubs and takeaways. There is even a mini theme park over looking the beach in the summer.

Within a short drive you will reach Studland with miles and miles of golden sands, a sun worshipper's paradise. If you are here in the colder months, why not warm up with a hot chocolate after blowing the cob webs away on a brisk walk to Old Harry Rocks?

The quaint village of Corfe Castle, watched over by one of the most iconic surviving castles from the civil war, is also within easy reach. The views from the top are breath-taking, be sure to stop by here for a visit during your stay.

Larger towns of Poole, Bournemouth and Weymouth are also accessible within 30-40 minutes, each with their own award-winning beaches, attractions and gardens.  All this and so much more can be explored during your stay, come rain or shine, Woody Hollow promises a warm and inviting welcome to all its guests.

Please note despite this property being all on one level, there are steps from the driveway through the garden to the bungalow entrance, see pictures for more detail. Mobile phone reception can also be limited in this area.

The cottage was excellent with everything we needed for our holiday, in quiet location with a good sized garden.
The cottage was well equipped, clean and with everthing we needed for our holiday. The garden is excellent, and was especially appreciated with the amzing weather we were lucky to have during our visit. The location is peaceful, but within walking distance of the beach and very close to the country park. For a week's holiday there is plenty to do without leaving Swanage but there are also plenty of interesting places close by to drive to.The only problem we found is that here is no facility for collecting recyling. We dutifully saved glass, plastic, paper and cardboard (as we do at home) only to find there is nowhere to leave it: there was no collection from the cottage and after driving around Dorset with a boot of recyling material we found that the county council have removed bottle-banks etc. from carparks/supermarkets. It would be helpful if some instructions how to deal with recyling could be provided. Our car was too full to take the material home so we unfortunately had to dispose of it with normal waste.Response: Thank you for your lovely feedback, we are pleased you had a nice stay. The commercial collection from the cottage is mixed and therefore should all go into the bin provided. We will ensure this instruction is made clearer within the cottage for future guests.

Quiet and Comfortable property
This property is well situated by the country park ( Coastal path) giving an alternate walking route down to Swanage off road. We appreciated the courtesy call off Chelsea to see if everything was OK which was a nice touch other Holiday cottage companies have never done. . The property is well maintained and we had a nice relaxing week.. Only slight criticism was that the back seating area had weeds growing through the gravel and chairs and table needed wiping down. Otherwise all good Thank you

Really well presented accommodation
Everything good, but would just like to know why in this day and age, there is no shaver socket in the bathroom ?
